JIntroducing Oregon’s High School Fishing Competition Teams Program
The High School Fishing Competition Teams Program is operated by I’m Hooked Inc in partnership with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. I’m Hooked Inc’s mission is to create and organize activities and instruction connecting ambitious youth to nature and to their environment, which will contribute to equipping them with the essential developmental tools for their future – with a focus on fishing.

This program offers students:

  • Connection with nature-based education (Curriculum includes the importance of aquatic ecosystems, fish habitats, conservation practices, and more.);

  • Fishing education from beginner to advanced (including but not limited to fishing gear, casting, catching techniques, knot tying, species identification, responsible fishing, and water safety);

  • Valuable skill building and leadership experiences;

  • Community engagement activities;

Beyond the above list of program offerings, high school fishing teams offer tangible, multifaceted benefits encompassing teamwork, skill enhancement, and environmental awareness. These activities contribute to personal growth and community service for student participants
